  • 1.  How can I maitain password and update user detail using CSV import?

    Posted Feb 13, 2018 12:27 PM

I have CA PAM version 3.1.1, in the documentation I have found this:

Import and Export Users - CA Privileged Access Manager - 3.1.1 - CA Technologies Documentation

    Updates to existing User records:

    • Current passwords can be maintained by using six asterisks, ******. Otherwise, passwords must be updated.

but when I try to do this PAM gives me this messagge:

PAM-CMN-0169 = Password must include both an alphabetic and a numeric character.

Hello Emanuele, You are right, this is not documented correctly. We have notified the documentation team to get it fixed. When you export users, you will find that in the export field the password is an empty string, "", and that is what works on import as well if you want to make other updates but retain the current password.

    Hi Emanuele,

You may be receiving this error because the password setting in Global Settings is too complex (Apply Global Settings - CA Privileged Access Manager - 3.1.1 - CA Technologies Documentation ). This is the setting for local accounts and will most likely affect the upload.  Try reducing the setting and try to upload the CSV again.
