    CA Privileged Identity Manager(a.k.a CA PIM) use canonical name for control. for example, TERMINAL class or network class.

    PIM get canonical host name by OS name resolution.  on Windows 'ping -a hostname' command can provide canonical name.  But on UNIX, ping command does not have -a option.

     

    You can use sehostinf which is internal utility.  This command returns canonical hostname simple.

     

    Usage:

      /opt/CA/AccessControl/lbin/sehostinf -n hostname
