Failed to open target share (System error code 67) - check deployment log.

  • 1.  Failed to open target share (System error code 67) - check deployment log.

    Hi guys,

     

    I am trying to deploy an agent using infrastructure deployment wizard and Its getting this error -"Failed to open target share (System error code 67) - check deployment log". I have checked firewall, I don't think its a firewall related issue. Please suggest me something to resolve this issue and where can I find the deployment log?

    Hi Paul,

     

    Can you map Admin$ on the target from domain manager with the credential you specified?

    If it fails, this may be caused by port or credential problem.

    The details should be in \dsm\logs\TRC_CF_DMDEPLOY_*.log

     

    But Error 67 is:

     

    ERROR_BAD_NET_NAME

    67 (0x43)

    The network name cannot be found.

    You need to get the details from the log file.

    I have checked log file. It shows

    The deployment tries a number of methods to connect of which Telnet is the last (and never works). You need to check further up the log file.

    Admin$ is not open or avalible to the user you are using.

    To test at the start prompt type

    The key line is ERROR  | Cannot deploy to unreachable target

    You need to look further up the log and you will see it cannot connect to the admin$ share

     

    from the error 67 it appears there may be a resolution issue. try IP Address instead

    In addition as already advised verify that Admin$ is open and that you can map to it from the DM with the credentials you are supplying to the deployment wizard

    HI

    I would also make sure that the IP address of the target machine is resolvable by IP address , hostname and FQDN and also make sure that from the target that the

    Domain Manager is resolvable by pinging (syntax ping -a IP , hostname , FQDN) if it doesn't resolve try adding etc/host entries on both machines. Then retry the deployment. I would also look over the requirements listed in the CA Client Automation Implementation Guide on page 251- 254 under the heading

    Prerequisites for Automatically Deploying Client Automation Infrastructure.

     

    Also review the required ports for deployment in the Implementation Guide

    Appendix B: Ports Used by CA Client Automation  page 515. specific ports used for deployment are listed on page 520.
