CIC Manager failing to open (Online Export Mode)

    Hi,

     

    I have finally got a chance to test setting up offline patching in 12.8 and I have created a base Windows 2008R2 Server VM build with internet connectivity.  I have installed CIC Manager from the following folder.

     

    CA-ITCM R12.8\Disk 1\WindowsProductFiles_x86\CIC\setupcic.exe

     

    I have configured CIC Manager to run in "Online Export Mode" with default settings, once installed I launch CIC Manager and I get an Error 500 (please see attachment for full error)

     

    Have I missed a pre-requisite?  if so please can someone advise.

    Don’t forget to start the service after the install.

    Hi, yes I notice it was set to manual during install and after first attempt then started the service and tried again but get same message both times.

    Colin,

     

    The service should be set to automatic and after a reboot the service should be started and running. Check the CIC logs to make sure everything is up OK.

    Steve,

     

    I have set it to automatic and rebooted, the service has started and running,  the CICManager logs shows all OK when I try to open the Manager but still get the Error 500,  in the CIC logs it does shows connection errors...  I have attached a copy of the CIC logs.

    I took a look at the log and CIC is not running correctly and is failing trying to get to a working state. I would try removing CIC and installing again and if it still fails open a support issue.

     

    The CIC install log may have additional information as to what went wrong during the install.

    Thanks I have tried a couple of times...  from the look of the log it looks more like java installed with CIC is failing...  I will log a support issue.
