Utility Reorg deletes nothing

Hi Everyone,

We've made Utility Reorg and Unload on Automic system Windows-MSSql configuration. When we ran the reorganization flow, everything is ending fine without any error but no record deleted on database. Reorg,Unload ini files are on attachment as txt format.

Do you know what could be the reason about it?

Have you configured your UC_UTILITY_REORG variable settings?

Note : the parameter auto_reorg=0 in ucybdbre.ini means that ALL statistics records and reports records will be removed !!! You will not have any more history in the DB. Plus it may be a very large amount of data to delete that can overload the logs of the DB.

Now with your current setting if no records are deleted maybe someone has activate the ILM once in the past. Even if it has been deactivated, the flag for ILM is set somewhere in the DB and the reorg flag is not used anymore for marking the records for deletion. Same for the ucybdbun, it doesn't perform the deletion of statistics, messages and reports records if the ILM flag is set in the DB.

Things you might have to check too:

• ILM: If you have ILM activated Reorg/Unload will just empty you recycle bin in the AE. In this case you have to wipe out old closed partitions you no longer need.
• Client 000. All CP, WP, JCP, JWP, Agent logs and a lot of System Messages are stored in the DB related to client 000. If you dont reorg Client 000 your DB will grow and grow. In my 20+ Years I saw a lot of customers forgot Client 000 in the Reorg/Unload Workflow.
• At least please check if "Revisioning" is activated. If you dont run the Revisioning Utility to export, your DB will grow as well.

Thanks a lot for all answers guys. Yes, it is like as you said.

I've migrated the AE system to fresh installed (non ILM) system, then utility reorg worked fine.

Before, It was deleting only recycle bin as you said.
