  • 1.  Service Manager service doesn't start

    Hello,

I am trying to configure Windows Agent as a service but running into this issue, here are the steps I tried on couple of machines with identical behavior.

     Version: 12.0.1.GA01-353
    - Installed Windows Agent and Service Manager
    - Executed command UCYBSMGR.EXE -install Phrase -iPath UCYBSMgr.ini
    - Configured .ini file in Agent\windows\bin directory
    - .UMC file contains this line
       DEFINE UC4 WIN01;*OWN\..\..\Agents\Windows\bin\UCXJWX6.exe;*OWN\..\..\Agents\Windows\bin\

If I strat the service from Services console I get
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Am I missing something fairly simple here, appreciate quick suggestions on this.

    Thanks in Advance.

    What does WIN Eventlog say?
    Any entries in SMGR logfile?
does the Agent start if you hit the exe file manually?

    - Don't see any relevant information in event logs except for below message.
The UC4.ServiceManager [UCYBSMgr.ini] service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).
    - SMGR log file is not created.
    - Yes, the agent starts fine when .exe is started.

    Thanks , Zafar

If there is no info in the WIN eventlogs AND the service terminates I would have a look on the antivirus & local firewall settings.
