Can someone share insights into why we get below error and how to fix it?  JWP service status is running.

    Hi @zafar

I'd start looking into the JWP log first : what does it say ?

The service may be running, but it does not necessarily mean that it's connected to the AE. Did the JWP entry change its name after it was started in the Service Manager Dialog ?

    Best regards,
    Antoine

Thanks for the quick reply Antoine,

This is what I see in hostname_awi_log file, not sure if there is another log that will have more details.

Thanks for your answer. If the service still displays as 'JWP' then it means it's not connected to the AE server / not reaching the DB, otherwise it would receive a WP number like below:

Is there a way to force JWP to connect with AE?

    Many thanks in advance.

There should be no need to force it to connect. If it's correctly configured then it should connect when being started.
Please ensure that it was installed as described here in the documentation:
    https://docs.automic.com/documentation/webhelp/english/AWA/12.0/DOCU/12.0/AWA%20Guides/help.htm#AWA/Installation/install_jwp_installation.htm

    Hi @zafar,

What happens if you start the JWP process from command line rather than our Service Manager?

    Cheers,
    Alexander

Result of manual start is following.

    C:\Automic\External.Resources\JDK\jdk1.8.0_101\bin>java -Xrs -Xmx512M -jar C:\Au
    tomic\Automation.Platform\AutomationEngine\bin\ucsrvjp.jar -IC:\Automic\Automati
    on.Platform\AutomationEngine\bin\ucsrv.ini -svc%port%
    UC4 AUTOMIC#WP-Server Version 12.0.1+build.2837 (PID=4524)

JWP install was part of AE server and there was manual configuration done. Is it possible to uninstall/reinstall JWP and will that help?

    Thanks, Zafar

That looks like the process started, or does it end with an exit code?

Yes, the service starts and remains started but it doesn't connect with the AE server.

    Hi Zafar,

How is the connection set in ucsrv.ini > [ODBC]?
Did you copy the sqljdbc4.jar / ojdbc6.jar into the AutomationEngine\bin\lib directory?

    Best regards,
    Antoine

    Hi @zafar ,

We would need to take a look in the log file. Please open a case with Support.

    Hi Antoine,
Yes, the jdbc jar file is copied and this is how the connection string looks like.

    SQLDRIVERCONNECT=jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=AUTOMIC;

I will open a support case and send the logs for review.

    Thanks, Zafar
