Task stuck waiting for predecessor external dependencies

Hello,

 

I'm using ONE Automation 2015 - Automation Engine 11.

 

I have a new workflow with the external dependency tasks in it.  The task that is supposed to start after the external dependencies however would not run and showed it was still "waiting for predecessor" even though all of the external dependencies were ENDED_OK.

 

For each external dependency, the expected status was left blank, lead time since last workflow execution else wait with no calendar.

 

The task that comes after that, an event if that matters, had it's task properties set to look for ENDED_OK on each of the external dependency tasks, no preconditions.

 

What do you think might cause this?  Let me know if I need to provide more information.

I think the problem was I had left the Expected Status blank.  I thought blank would mean no filter, but we set it to ANY_OK and it worked fine.  Of course blank made no sense, but I wanted to understand how it works.
