UC4 Job Messenger Failed

We are seeing the below crop up every so often post job execution as part of the messenger for the agent

 

Error in function 'connect', Errorcode 10048
Program 'UC4 Job Messenger' version '10.0.4+build.421' terminated abnormally

D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server (x86)\120\DTS\Binn>GOTO JOBENDE
ATTENTION - UC4:JOBMESSENGER failed
JOB ended with RETCODE 0
JOBMSG ended with RETCODE 2
JOB will abort with RETCODE from JOBMSG step

I just scanned my 11.2.1 system for the command "GOTO JOBENDE" and it seems to only exist in client 0000 inside of the include TRAILER.WINDOWS.  This script is executed at the end of every windows process.  Suggest you rule out the possibility that someone has modified TRAILER.WINDOWS.

 

I also found this in the online help files regarding 10048;

Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally allowed.

I validated that it has not been edited. I've also seen the message about socket addressing. Is it possible to have to many objects running on the single server the system address. Will dig more into it.

I would suspect an error whileconnecting from Agent JOB messenger to the AE server.

 

Do the WP- CP and Agent logs tell something?

 

Does this happen on more different Agents and jobs?

Did you check also the version of the job Messenger ? If you are using a 32 bit version on a 64 bit machine i.e. it can generate an error. Also coding the proper Job Messenger name in the ini file .... can help sometimes.
