Hi All,
We prepping for our v9.4 (SQL2008) to V11.2 (SQL2014) upgrade. In looking to save time does anyone see a problem with backing up the V9.4 db then restoring/converting to SQL2014, then running the 11.2 update?
Any comments apprecaited.

If you do not need Version Management objcts, Reports and Statistics in the new system I personally would set up a new V112 system and transport the objects from the old system to the new one.
This can go in parallel while the old system is still productive.
If all with V11.2 tests were successful you can switch to the new system and have still the old system available as fallback and as archive for old reports / statistics.

Hey WolfGang, thanks for the feedback. That is the way we intended to go, however the app teams want the stats and are concerned of satisfying predecessor requirements of the 'last run being successful'. I've walked them back from everything to 35 days but it is still an ongoing discussion.

satisfying predecessor requirements is of course a topic that has to to be discussed with the teams. If its possible to run some pre-runs in the PROD env they have their runs :-)
Otherwise there must be a manual hmmm correction or intervention.
These discussion topics will be popping up or becoming irrelevant by doing some test upgrades :-)
