We are pleased to announce the general availability of version 2.7 of CA Agile Requirements Designer (CA ARD).

Below is a summary of the core new and enhanced features.

Download CA Agile Requirements Designer v2.7.

    Automatic Model Building Accelerator

This new accelerator gives a solid starting base for initial models by importing new or existing Selenium Builder recordings. With the added ability to automatically create an automation configuration, you can now immediately start exporting scripts back to Selenium Builder.

    Licence Activation Process

When you install CA ARD v2.7 and add a new license, you can launch a licensing wizard. This wizard makes applying your new license easier than ever, with the added benefit of allowing you to activate ‘Viewer’ mode if you have no valid licenses to apply. We also prioritise concurrent license servers over local named licenses. This means that if CA ARD can’t find a license server to connect to it will utilize your local license instead allowing flexibility of both options.

CA Agile Central Integration with Test Plans

This feature for enterprise customers integrates with CA Agile Central Quality Manager to import and export Test cases within Test Plans. You also have the added benefit of creating a Test Plan folder directly from within CA Agile Requirements Designer.

CA Agile Central / HPE ALM / Atlassian Jira / Microsoft Team Foundation Server – Automatic Configurations

These enhancements help you to configure the initial configurations for your chosen lifecycle tool integration more quickly. Giving the ability to automatically set a default configuration for items to quickly begin importing and exporting. There is also the ability to copy a configuration from one project to another giving even more flexibility.

    New Icons

The new icons not only give a more modern and cleaner look but make the user interface more consistent. There are also new animations to reflect changes applied to items within a flowchart. An animation highlights the changed item, and a notification indicates the exact change.

CA Application Test Integration – Importing Test Variables

CA ARD can read an existing CA Application Test files in order to import the series of steps and variables from the test case. This makes the process of using CA Application Test and CA ARD together for data-driven testing much easier.

    New Optimizer (Beta Release)

The new Optimizer (Beta) is much faster and returns more concise paths than the existing one. By default, constraints are always applied, and flattening is always enabled. To test first enable beta features, and then enable the Try New Optimizer (beta) checkbox in the Path Explorer. (Note – do not use this beta feature in production).

More: Enable Standard Settings and Advanced Features

    Hi,

We are planning to upgrade ARD from 2.5 version to 2.7. We have the Concurrent user type license. Would it be feasible to upgrade to latest version 2.7. We have upgraded CA TDM to 4.4

    Hi Sunil,

Yes, upgrading to ARD 2.7 would be recommended as it is the current & latest release.

There are not any issues going directly from ARD 2.5 to ARD 2.7

    Thank you,

    Ryan
