  • 1.  Logmon - Command - Subsystem ID limited number of characters

    Hi all,

i've been trying to configure alerting on logmon command exit code. As per the documentation:

    Configure Command Exit Code Alarms
You can add a new threshold, copy existing threshold details to a new one, modify an existing one, and delete a threshold.
    The
    Threshold [New]
     dialog contains the following fields:
    •
      Threshold Value:
      specifies an exit code.
    •
      Condition:
      specifies relational operator.
    •
      Severity:
      specifies the alarm message severity.
    •
      ID:
displays the numeric sequence of the threshold.
    • Subsystem ID:
       defines the alarm subsystem ID.
    •
      Message:
      defines the alarm message text.

--> When I try to enter a subsystemID, I'm limited in the numbers of character I can enter:
    is that normal ?
    exit code alerting

    Thank you

It would make sense there is a limit but could not find what it is.
checking nas.cfg this is one of the longest:
    2.14.6.1.4.4.1. = XtremIO Target

    Maybe this will help:

We have already subsystems in place and it works great with Logmon and a lot of other probes. Our format are the following 4.1.2.1.XXXX

The only issue I have is with with a command exit code threshold that doesn't let me put enough characters in the field. (like in the screenshot previously sent). So I was wondering why this specific subsystem field is not like the others.

    thx

I would recommend that a support case be opened so that a defect can be logged for the inconsistent behavior of this field since this restriction does not exist in the other parts of the logmon probe.

And you can use raw configure to set the value or edit the cfg file directly.
