  • 1.  Launching probe configuration launches Quick Books

    Posted Mar 26, 2020 03:58 PM

    So this is a weird one. We are building out new Win10 VDI images for the company to use and when testing the new image whenever I try to open any probe configuration, the Windows OS launches the "Quick Books" installation Wizard:

    I know this just must be the OS is associating whatever call IM is making when it tries to launch a probes gui. What file extension *.??? does IM launch whenever we d-click on a probe to open it? I need to ask IT to break the OS level association with that file type and let IM handle it. Not Quick Books.

    we are launching the .exe for the probe from the temp directory.
    Usually when we see this is it is not a file association it is a corrupt install of the installer that is trying to launch.

    these are c++ run

    these are C++ executables so it might be a problem with the c++ runtime libraries as well.
    Usually, this would resolve itself if the installation could finish but as you do not have rights it does it every time.
    Your admin will have to look into it and resolve it.
