the servers under monitoring to not connect to the back end database.
these have robots on them which collect information and send them to the primary hub.
the primary hub is the only server that will insert information into the back end database.
Please review the UIM reference architecture.

Hi Gene,
Thank you for the udpate. One quick query. If I have 500 servers under UIM monitoring, as the probes will make connections, the user count will be 1 or equivalent to server count.
Please confirm, bit confused here.
Thanks
Kamal Rath

all of the connections out of the box pull the connection string from the data_engine.
This one user is used for all connections.
There will be multiple probes making connections but only the one user.

Hi Team,
In on-prem UIM installation we are going to use MS SQL DB. Could you let me know how many users will be connected to DB once UIM server installation is over. We know at least one user will be connected which will be provided to create the database during primary hub installation. So its the only user that will be connected to MS SQL DB or any other internal user will be connected to DB.
Thanks
