    Hi all,

How can we classify the mail for process alerts(monitored in processes probe), according to their owner.

i.e: Application processes alerts needs to be delivered to app team, and system processes alert need to be delivered to system admins.

    Thanks,

    Varnima,

A nas auto-operator profile should be able to fulfill this need.

One way to do this would be to define unique Subsystem IDs for the processes probe alarm in the nas (for example a Subsystem ID for system process alarms and one for application process alarms).  Then for each of your profiles in the processes probe that correspond to a system process, define the alarm and clear alarm in the profile and use the corresponding Subsystem ID you created in the nas probe for the system processes.  You would do the same for each of your application process profiles using the Subsystem ID you created in the nas probe for the application processes.

Once you have this in place, then you can create Auto-Operator profiles in the nas which will email the alarm to the appropriate group based on the subsystem ID of the alarm message from the processes probe.

Or maybe you can enable grouping in processes probe and create two groups one for system process and one for application processes and then simply add $group in the message text. Then you can use NAS auto operators to differentiate the process type on the basis of group and trigger emails accordingly.
