  • 1.  Is there a way to perform a silent install of NFA components?

I am wanting to automate the install of a standalone NFA system and don't see any doc on a silent install.

Is there an undocumented feature to provide the .exe with a response file?

    Hi Kip,

I found this in the community for CA Performance Management. I've moved it over here in the NFA Community where it should get a more timely update with some tips.

    Thanks,

    Mike

We don't have a procedure for Silent installations of NFA.

I found that since the installer is built with Flexera InstallAnywhere you can in fact do a silent install.

    http://helpnet.flexerasoftware.com/installanywhere2012/Content/helplibrary/ia_ref_command_line_install_uninstall.htm

The process is to do an install by running the .exe from a command prompt with a "-r installer.properties" argument; which creates a installer response file. Then you can use that and run the installer with a "-i silent -f installer.properties".

This works for any installer built with InstallAnywhere. I was able to use this for the NFA Harvester, Console and Anomaly Detector installers.

    Thanks
