How to calculate license usage manually in UIM

Hi Guys,

 

What is the best way to calculate license usage for server pack and application pack manually.

 

Is there any document which specifies in details about application pack license calculation?

 

How the usage_metering and billing probe calculate it?

Calculating it manually might be bit tricky , you would need to exactly know which probe falls under which category/ license pack and there is no single document available publicly which talks about it . 

 

As the licensing is based on a device but multiple probes can be used to monitor a single device , trying to calculate the license consumption manually might get complicated 

 

Recommended way is to use the billing probe

Guys,

 

My question is how the billing and usage_metering probe works? Which probe do they consider as application probe and which probe do they consider for basic server pack? How do they calculate attributes and monitors?

 

how the calculaiton being done before the development of these probes?
