Rogue AP Detection

Hello,

 

I am trying to monitor Rogue Access Point in Cisco Wireless controller. I was wondering if anyone had any experience on monitoring rogue access points using spectrum or uim.

 

A rogue access point is a wireless access point that has been installed on a secure network without explicit authorization from a local network administrator,[1] whether added by a well-meaning employee or by a malicious attacker. (Source: wiki)

 

Any help or advice on this will be much appreciated.

The Cisco controller should generate a trap when a rogue AP has been detected, as well as when it goes away.  There are out of the box events and alarms for this in Spectrum:
