  • 1.  Which Napatech Card for MTP 4x1g?

    Posted Feb 01, 2017 12:14 AM

Can anyone share how to determine which Napatech capture card type for Multi-Port Monitor (MTP) model CA6000 based on dmidecode log file?

Below is the info on Napatech card in the dmidecode file

84:00.0 Network controller: Napatech A/S NT4E Capture Card (rev 02)

Checking Napatech website, there are three types for 4 x 1g card. They are

    1. NT4E-STD
    2. NT4E2-4T-BP
    3. NT4E2-4-PTP

(please refer attachment for the picture of the three cards)

Is there any command can be run on the mtp to get the complete info on the Napatech capture card?

Packet capture is supported using the capture cards from Napatech. Supported configurations are:

    • 2x10 Gbps card (NT20E)
    • 8x1 Gbps card (NT4E + NTPort4 Expansion Card)
    • 4x1 Gbps card.  (NT4E)

So if you have a 4x1, you should have NT4E.
