  • 1.  zpool list out put monitoring from solaris server through CA UIM

    Hi All,

     

    we have gone through few probes to implement this

     

    Requirement : zpool list out put monitoring from solaris server through CA UIM

     

    Basically the zpool list output gives the CAP percentage for all the pools that are connected to one solaris server,

     

    we want to put this CAP percentage in monitoring through CA UIM, if percentage crossed for example 90% alert should trigger from CA UIM

    tried using zones,zops and zstorage probes but later realized that these are mainframe data feeders

    Any probe can help here from CA UIM ?

    Hello,

    The zones probe does not monitor anything automatically. Initially, you need to define what to monitor. This process includes:

    1. Connecting to the Solaris box.
    2. Adding monitors (checkpoints).
    3. Configuring the checkpoints to send QoS data and alarms if the thresholds specified are breached.

    zops and zstorage probes don't seem to monitor Solaris Os; it only monitors Windows and Linux.

    Did you try using fsmounts probe?

    Hi Sayeed,

     

    we have already tried this fsmounts probe, but it is just giving the mount file system details not the size of the pool list connected to that solaris box.

     

    thought zones probe would help here , but unfortunately even though we have UIM license for all probes , zones probe is showing that it has no valid license

     

    opened a support case on this

    There is an enhancement request exists already for this option that we are looking for and it has been created in 2015 itself

    Anybody can reply this from CA Development side to which probe this enhancement is going on ? is it work in progress or not yet started

     

    This is very important features if you people can include this option in zones probe or cdm probe
