  • 1.  How do I get "swedish" characters (Å Ä Ö) in alarm message?

    Is it possible to get characters like "å ä ö" in the alarm message?

    It works when sending test alarms from NAS, but not when coming from probe (alarm messages tab).

     

    Our UIM/UMP version is 8.50.

    Didn't work.

     

    I added this string to the Arguments field:

    -Xms64m -Xmx1024m -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1 -Dpds.decoding.charset=ISO-8859-1 -Dpds.encoding.charset=ISO-8859-1 -jar ../lib/alarm_enrichment.jar

     

     

    • Pressed OK
    • Deactivated alarm_enrichment
    • Deactivated NAS
    • Activated alarm_enrichment
    • Activated NAS

     

    Still no Å Ä Ö-characters in the alarm message

    To be clear, are you viewing the alarms in UMP/USM or in the IM alarm window?  Does it appear differently in one vs. the other?

     

    I am not 100% sure this is supported since Swedish is not an officially supported language for UIM but it may be possible to get it to work...

    Yep, same on both UMP and IM

    Problem seems to be from specific probes.

    It works from 'url_response' but does not work from IBMi/iSeries-probes like 'fetchmsg' and 'jobs'. Probably the same with all other iSeries probes

    If you are using Microsoft SQL Server, please try this.

    -Xms64m -Xmx1024m -jar ../lib/alarm_enrichment.jar

    Hmm still doesn't work.

     

    Å Ä Ö å ä ö

    translates to 

    Å D O å U 6
