I have configured icmp probe to monitor switches using Template Editor, however the monitoring parameters defined in the template is not applying to the profiles discovered, rather i have to do configuration for each and every profile manually. Does anyone have faced this issue ?
after you created the monitoring template and the autofilter in the template editor, did you also configure the entries in the discovery filter section of the probe? If so, did you run the "query discovery server" function from the top-level of the icmp configuration afterwards?
The problem is that you need to have discovery scopes configured for your discovery_server (as seen in the USM) as well as having discovery scopes defined in ICMP (these are not identical).

Yes, i have configured the discovery filter section and after that i have queried the discovery server which resulted into Profiles creation, however configuration is not applied on profiles
I have exactly the same issue... how come such a basic functionality is so hard to configure right the first time?
After you have created several profiles and successfully tested the connections in each of the profiles, then you will need to Save the configurations.
In this example, I used Robots as the template name and Monitoring Robots as the Description, you will also need to check the Active box to enable the Template.
As you can see, I have enabled four monitors and the sections I want to gather from the monitor.
**Note: If you are using ipaddress, then you will need to use Primary IPV4.
