dirscan clear message

hello,

I am using age of file check into a dirscan probe. The alarm are cleared on the alarm console when the error is no more occuring but the clear message is not processed by the nas auto operator rule (send email). Why?

The clear message for all the other probe is workink great but not for discan.

expected outcome -> clear message sent when age of file becomes ok again

actual result -> clear message isn't sent althogh on alarm console has been cleared

Would you please be more specific for description of ACTUAL RESULT ?

 

From what happened - original threshold breaching alarm was cleared in alarm console, means the probe has sent clear message for original alarm.

Yes you are right but even if alarm has been cleared then the autooperator rules on nas don't send the clear message via email.

Here is your issue description is it correct ?

 

You have a AO rule in NAS probe for email notification.

 

If dirscan probe triggers threshold breaching situation alert, you are successfully notified via email.

If dirscan probe triggers threshold breaching situation resolved alert (we'd say clear alarm), you don't get notified via email.

Hello.

Would you please see behavior after "Message Counter" criteria is disabled ?

 

With NAS probe alarm suppression concept, clear alarm is also considered as an update of existing alarm.

It means that "Message Counter" of clear alarm is always be equal or larger than 2.

 

In your AO profile, "Message Counter" criteria is less than 2, therefore clear alarm will not match your criteria.
