    Hi All!

Recently we have seen some users attempting to run ARA type workflows within ECC/AWI. The error message will look similar to the following:

To execute this type of workflow you need to switch to the Release Automation perspective.

Workflows created in ARA need to be executed through ARA as they depend on specific folders and other information within the Release Automation perspective. If you do not have ARA and are receiving this message on a few workflows, you can change the type of the workflow by following the below instructions:

    1) Open the User Interface in the Client containing the workflow
    2) Open UC_CLIENT_SETTINGS
    3) Create DEPLOYMENT_CLIENT (if it is not present) and set it to = Y
    4) Close and re-open the User Interface and re-login
    5) Edit the affected workflow(s), inside there is a "deployment tab", check then uncheck "Deployment"
    6) Remove the line DEPLOYMENT_CLIENT in UC_CLIENT_SETTINGS and login again

If you have many workflows being effected and the above solution will take too much time you should contact Automic Support so we can review and advise.

    I hope this is helpful!

This would apply to any workflow created within ARA :)

V11:This is true for any application workflow. This is not applicable forGeneral type workflow. If a workflow is created of typeGeneral , it is independent of application, hence it can be executed from Process Assembly perspective. However other type of workflows (install, uninstall etc), they are dependent on an application. Hence it must be executed from Release Automation perspective.

V12:This is not applicable to ARA V12.
