Job Title:

Consultant Technical Infrastructure and Networking  Can be explained as advising customers about technical infrastructure to help realization of business goals.

Based out of:  Netherlands

Former Job:  Title was Senior Solution Integrator.  It was all about implementing VAS Solutions at global Telecom customers.

What do you enjoy about your work

  • Variation, interesting challenges, discovering and learning.
  • Working in multidisciplinary international projects.
  • Involving multiple departments, teams, companies.
  • With new development and latest technological trends.
  • Technical, political and planning related challenges.
  • To see ideas turned into designs and finally into real functional live applications.

About your family:

Two sisters. Parents are not alive anymore.

My girlfriend lives in Italy where I met her when I worked there for some years.

No children.

Favorite 3 movies of all time:

Don't have all time favorites. There are tons of really great ones. Don't remember titles, barely see any movie a second time.  Blade runner is a great movie. Watership down is a (very old) great cartoon movie.  Om Shanti Om is a great (long) Bollywood movie. Just to name three.

Favorite book:   I don't read that much and don't have one favorite.

Just to name one, out of many. I really liked 'Goedel, Escher, Bach' of Douglas Hofstadter which I read more than 25 years ago.

(Goedel being mathematician, Escher a painter and Bach a musician. All three known to create beautiful but 'impossible' things in their field.)

Because it demonstrates, in a way, that a 'fundamental' truth is fundamentally impossible. Which is by the way my interpretation of the conclusion.

It's proven in an impressive (almost) mathematical way. Recommended but pretty heavy material, especially later chapters. And bulky too.

Favorite hobbies:

I love art and discovering. To me much of the magic of this world is inside beautiful art. Music, photography, paintings, stories, movies, etc.

Totally into music. All kinds and genres as long as it's beautiful.

Wish to ever find more time to also play and record music, with or without a band.

One musician whose life and work I admire currently is Nile Rodgers of Chic. And seems to be a great guy.

Love the 70s. Even it's 'before my time'. It was such a creative time. Like a Renaissance.

Also love photography. My photography idol is actually a painter: Salvador Dali. My favorite painter, I think he is a genius.

I would like to make pictures like he paints. Surrealistic, beautiful and mixed here and there with pieces of reality. So creative! :-)

Also like traveling. Discovering and learning the magic of worlds, cultures, stories, local customs, places, cities, local food, climates.

And then things like hiking and cycling in the forests around my house.

Sometimes running, swimming, gym.

I used to have a horse and go Horseback riding for days through nature, Western style, fantastic experience.

Logical puzzles, to challenge my mind a bit.

Also visiting and enjoying good times with girlfriend, friends and family.

Interesting fact about yourself:

Not so many interesting facts about me.

Maybe something not so common is that I had the ability to work all over the globe for more than ten years.

Many years ago I looked for and found a job that enabled me to travel.

This enabled me to visit and execute projects in many countries, on every continent of the globe. Especially Europe and Asia.

Can recommend it to anyone with the opportunity to do so.

To learn, work with, help and get to know people, life, cultures, food and locations in other countries all over the globe.

And temporarily become part of it. Wouldn't want to have missed it for the world.

I learned many things although some people seem to be smart enough to learn the same things without traveling the world. Not me.
