VCIX - badge or certificate

Hi,

I am curious why VMware did not decide to treat the VCIX level as a certification and not just a virtual badge?

Indeed, especially as on few certification oriented one-pagers VCIX used to be marked as actual next-level of certification after VCAP. 

I think leaving it as just a badge degrades the credibility of this achievement. Finally getting 2 VCAPs in a specific track is more then earning one.

I get asked a lot of questions about this on my courses, VCIX being a milestone, but on my slides it comes above VCAP, and below VCDX, hat's off though to people who achieve it, I think that as there is no specific "exam" for VCIX that is why it's treat as milestone rather than certification
