  • 1.  Anyone use Pearson OnVUE at home?

I am considering my first VMware cert as an OnVUE home exam. I am concerned about the privacy of sending a photocopy of my ID to a proctor though?

For an in-person Microsoft cert I simply showed my ID at the testing center, will I just show my ID to a webcam and send pictures of my room? Or will I need to send a picture of my ID as well?

Not specific to VMware, here’s more info: https://home.pearsonvue.com/Test-takers/OnVUE-online-proctoring.aspx

A similar questions was asked on Reddit - the responses give a variety of experiences. Essentially, the proctor is there to confirm you are who you say you are - just like an in-person proctor. There is a portal where your info is uploaded.

Thank you I will check it out. I quit visiting the Reddit forum after Broadcom announcement, it had just turned into an anti-VMware bulletin board.

We need to show the ID whether taking at Exam center or Online protect (at home). It may be not only showing a while but also scanning and record at Pearson I think.
If we take the the exams at Center, the staff (maybe local) can know our information and if we take it at home, the proctor can know (maybe foreigner for our Country). But we have no more option to choice.
