Is there a solutioin? or any patch update to block pcanywhere buffer overflow attack?
This forum is for the Endpoint Protection product, but because there is not a forum for PCA, I'll do my best to answer your question here.
The recent serious security issue for PCA was discovered in Jan. It was recommended to disable PCA in your environment until you get to the newest version or at least the patch listed below.
Here is the whitepaper/advisory on this: http://www.symantec.com/connect/sites/default/files/pcAnywhere%20Security%20Recommendations%20WP_01_23_Final.pdf
Symantec has released both a hotfix and new versions that take care of this issue: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH179526
