L2 Network Extension via NSX Autonomous Edge from VLAN on prem to SEGMENT NSX-T with AVS Azure

Hello,

For a project, a client asked us to migrate VMware VMs from a private provider's datacenter to AVS on Azure without using HCX to extend the L2 network.
I would like to know if it's possible to extend an L2 VLAN from an on-premises datacenter to an NSX-T segment of an AVS on Azure solution. I found a possible implementation for the AWS VMware cloud solution using autonomous NSX-T, but I haven't been able to find any Microsoft documentation that supports this configuration. Does anyone know if this is a viable solution and if it's supported by Microsoft?
Thanks.

No - extending an on-prem L2 VLAN directly into an NSX-T segment in Azure VMware Solution (AVS) is not supported, unless you use HCX.

And Microsoft does not support autonomous NSX-T-based L2 extension in AVS.

In Azure VMware Solution, NSX-T is provider-managed and locked down. You cannot deploy or operate NSX-T features independently the way you can in on-prem or some AWS designs.

Without HCX, migrations must be performed using L3 connectivity with IP readdressing or application-level adjustments.
