  • 1.  Windows 10 upgrade with Software Management Solution - error

    Posted Sep 24, 2022 01:14 PM
    Hi,

Followed the steps in this KB for Windows 10 upgrade.
    https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/178784

Encountered this error at the Import Software step.

From a.log, found the following errors.

Unable to process schedule: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:4010

Computer 51a50b02-7db1-46f7-8830-3f7afdc118d1 trying to register as a task server (version: 8.5.5701) on NS 51a50b02-7db1-46f7-8830-3f7afdc118d1 is not registered as a site server on NS. It may be temporary situation until collections update on the NS is performed. Please make sure that this computer is registered on NS as site server. In case of disaster recovery scenario, run 'NS.Restore Task Servers' Windows Schedule.

The NS Client Task Agent is connected to another NS/task server.

    Questions:
    - Is it necessary for the NS to connect to itself as a task server?
    - Are the 2 errors mentioned above related?
    - If not, any suggestion on how to resolve error "Unable to process schedule: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:4010"?

    Regards,
    Ain

    Hello Ain!
The error you found is the wrong one, not related to the Package Import procedure.
Using Altiris Log Viewer, please look for another error. Presumably it should contain "Altiris.SoftwareManagement"  in the "Source" column.
    Regards
    Artur

    Hi Arthur,
Thanks for responding. I found this error in the logs.

    CDATA[WebApi Controller failure.

Unable to extract file Windows10x64Enterprise21H2\sources\boot.wim due to DataError
    [SevenZipWrapper.SevenZipArchiveCustomException @ SevenZipWrapper]
at SevenZipWrapper.SevenZipArchive.Extract(ArchiveEntry entry, String destinationDir, Stream destinationStream, ExtractOptions extractOption)
at SevenZipWrapper.SevenZipArchive.ExtractAll(SevenZipArchive archive, String destinationDir, ExtractOptions extractOption)
    at Altiris.SoftwareManagement.WebApi.Controllers.PackageFileUpload.ExtractArchive()
    at Altiris.SoftwareManagement.WebApi.Controllers.PackageFileUpload.<Upload>d__5.MoveNext()

I could not find any KB related to this error. The ISO was extracted and the contents were zipped before importing.
    Any workaround for this error?

    Regards,
    Ain

    Hello Ain!

Please clarify what you are trying to accomplish.
SevenZipWrapper  error can not be related to setup.exe shown on the 1st screen.

I am wondering whether you succeed to import anything into Software Catalog/Software Library .
What ITMS release do you have ?

    Regards,
    Artur

    Hi Arthur,
    Version used: 8.5.5713.0

Followed the steps in this KB up to step 4 and got the "An error has occurred during uploading files to server." -> https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/178784

The setup.exe in the screenshot was done during the 1st try of importing the software. The import failed with this error.

    Regards,
    Ain

Ain, it seems like your AexSVC service is down .
Please check that at least the following Altiris services are up and running

    Good morning Ain!

    1. Could you please show how looks content of specified folder where you choose .zip file for import into SW library? This is UNC location or You are using local storage on NS Server itself to choose zipped file for import?

Because I see on your picture that after extracting a zipped file, it shows not only content of iso but there is also unnecessary zipped iso file in the list

Example from my ITMS 8.5 RU4 server to import Windows11 extracted zipped iso files:

    2. Please show what point fixes you have installed on your ITMS 8.5 RU4 server

    Best regards,
    IP.

    Hi IP,

Removed the other files or folders from the location to import the package and still stuck with the same error.

    Good Morning Ain!

    Thank you for information!

    1. As far as I see, "Windows10x64Enterprise21H2.zip" file size is only ~287MB (it can't be, because correct zipped file for WIndows10 or Windows 11 size around 5,5 GB)

Please make sure that you are using all extracted Windows 10 ISO files and then all they are zipped in single .zip file.

    2. Your "Software Library" location is on NS server itself or this is a UNC storage? Please check that SW library location has enough free space.

    Best regards,
    IP.
