  • 1.  Software uninstalled from client computer still shows up in the Installed Software list

    Hello,

    We are facing a very old problem in Altiris related to software that, once
    removed from the computer, is still shown in the Altiris software section,
    and in the Altiris database.

    In this case the software is the SEP client. It has been removed from the
    computer and it has been checked in the computer itself that nothing is
    still there: no registries, no folders, nothing in Add or remove
    programs... But Altiris says that the software is installed.

    We have followed the actions suggested in this article
    so we have purged manually the records in the database, and once done, we
    have run a software inventory and a full inventory, but the tables in the
    database are not populated.

    In the machine we found that there is a second file for SoftwareCache:

    SoftwareCache_v2.xml

    The first one: "SoftwareCache.xml" was removed as is indicated in the
    article.

    1. What should we do to have software data again for that machine?
    2. What does it mean that second SoftwareCache_v2?
    3. As we have this problem in many computers, is there any task that we could create to solve the problem in a high number of computers instead of having to go one per one?
    Key points:

    The *SoftwareCache_v2.xml *is not empty, in fact there is plenty of
    data with software details.



    - The *SoftwareCache.xml *has not been regenerated after being deleted
    and after running a FULL inventory.



    - The Inv_AddRemoveProgram table in database shows 0 results and the table Inv_InstalledSoftware has two records.:

    Are you able to confirm that the client's NSE are being processed by the Notification Server?

    Also what's the result's if you re-install the Altiris Agent and run a full inventory?

    Thanks for the answer.

    Yes, the NSEs are processed by the Notification Server.
    If I remove the client from the console, I get the good results, but I
    cant do that with all the clients because I should include them into the
    filters again...
