    Hi,

    Version: 8.5 RU4
This report is showing 0 rows when this policy was distributed in November 2022.

Is this a known issue? If not, what should I check or do to get the report to show the correct data?

    Regards,
    Ain

    Hi Ain Abdullah!

Could you please provide report name?
Make sure that you have enabled reporting in your Managed Delivery policy
Check that you have enabled SWD events

    Best regards,
    IP.

    Hi!

This is not our default report and probably this report was cloned and modified therefore I can't investigate what is wrong there, because I don't have such report on my side.

    Best regards,
    IP.

    Hi IP,
Is there an existing or custom report for software delivery policy?
If there is no such report, do you have other suggestion on how to get the report with information as below?

    Regards,
    Ain

You report looks like it came from the "Status (All Instances)" built-in report. This report can be found in Reports > All Reports > Software > Delivery > Status. There are other useful reports under Software > Compliance and Software > Delivery.

    Hi Chris,
Thanks for this. Is there any known issue with software delivery reports that some computers are missing when selecting certain date range?
Found this KB but not sure if it is affecting all reports.

I wrote that KB, and it is specifically for patching, that would not affect your software delivery reports.
In digging into the Status (All Instances) report, the limitation you will have is that it is based off of task Event tables - these will be purged over time and so will be misleading. The most likely reason your initial question on why there are zero results is because the data has already been purged. The screenshot below shows where to see the task cleanup settings and show the default settings - which we set low on purpose to avoid growing the database too large - so you can assess your database to see if increasing the values would be okay in your environment.

The question I ask for situations like this is what is it you are wanting to see? For most people I have worked with, what they want to know is if the software is installed or not - and the answers for that are best seen in the Installed Software report which is based on Software Inventories normally collected by policy on a reoccurring schedule. For urgent projects/roll-outs, you can use SW inventory tasks to get more rapid results (keep performance in mind when doing this though.) The Installed Software report is located in Reports > Discovery and Inventory > Cross-platform > Software/Applications > Software. Two factors to consider are the Type and Discovered Since parameters at the top of the report. For type, choose All Software to be safe, and set the discovered since data back to 2000 (basically before the first ever inventory so as to see all installs; otherwise you may miss some) I would use the Name filter to filter out the results or the report may timeout or reach the maximum number of rows (which is 50k by default). You can use the percent sign (%) one or more times as a wildcard.

I find the reports I mentioned above (except the Installed Software report) and are best suited for particular troubleshooting situations and are not useful for tracking deployments due to many factors, including the Event table purging I mentioned. The compliance reports for example are affected by current and past targeting of a computer depending on which report and if you drill down in a report that has a drill down feature.
