I'm curious, can you share the specific security concerns?
My understanding, for C based applications at least, was that the VC runtimes are common from VS2015 onwards, which seems to be the case as per https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#visual-studio-2015-2017-2019-and-2022 in the notes section?
With respect to VS2022 and Gen, we have successfully used VS2022 as an IDE, configured with the VS2019 build tools. It required some build script changes, however. But we're still using the 2019 tools which are certified, not 2022.

Subject: Support for Visual Studio 2022 for Gen 8.6
We have from our security team the requirement to upgrade to Visual Studio 2022 because of security issues in the versions VS 2017 and VS 2019.
Has Broadcom any plans to official support the VS 2022. If yes when? Are there already any experiences with VS 2022 and Gen 8.6.3?
