Subject: General Availability Announcement for OPS/MVS
On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success under the Continuous Delivery model, we are pleased to announce the General Availability (GA) of the following feature PTF:
OPS/MVS 14.0 - Automation of System Critical Messages (Feature PTF LU06695)
Thousands of messages are received on zOS on a daily basis and among them, some of those messages are critical to zOS components and the zOS environment. If not detected correctly, they could lead to a potential system and/or business outage. Many customers have dedicated automation SMEs who are constantly creating new rules for new messages on the environment, however for the most part this is a reactive effort to capture and take action the next time it occurs. With this feature, OPS/MVS will be able to detect most critical messages received on zOS and allow customers to define a default action if existing rules have not taken action on the message. Sample rules are provided to demonstrate possible actions such as recording the event to the RDF table, sending an alert to Alert Central, AP/Alert Manager, NetCool and other service managers such as ServiceNow.
