    Hi Forum members

Some years ago, I worked with CA and World Programming Ltd on a joint project to prepare MICS to work with WPS (alternative SAS language compiler) and vice-versa, to give Customers the benefit of cheaper SAS language support on their z/OS Platforms.

It was the position then, and it is still, that to use MICS within a Site you simply had to have SAS Software on the z/OS platform. This meant that, in some cases, the use of MICS Software prevented a Site from migrating from SAS to WPS when all other indications meant that it was an operationally and financially viable options to consider.

At the time we made great progress, adding in all the SAS functional support, such as the ISPF Services support that MICF uses, and getting the *GEN processes working to the point where database would complete OK.

Unfortunately, the project was terminated early, but having worked as a certified MICS Consultant/Evangelista to LEGENT and then CA for many years, I am uniquely positioned to discuss this topic.

Do you think it would be of interest to your Site to re-kindle this initiative and would you like to participate in discussions on the potential benefits it would have to existing MICS Sites?

Finally, does anyone know, and can share, the contact details for the current MICS Product Manager within Broadcom?

Many thanks, in advance for your comments and feedback.

    Cheers
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

I am the product owner for MICS. Regarding the WPS support, the knowledge article addressing this: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/47964/ca-mics-support-for-wplwps.html is still valid.

Please feel free to contact me about any topic regarding MICS.

    Regards,
    Alex
