    Hello XCOM Community,

    On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services.  As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. Today, we are pleased to announce that XCOM Data Transport for Windows 12.0 is now available. 

     

    Featured enhancements for XCOM Data Transport for Windows 12.0 include:

     

    • Security

      • Reduced risk of security exposures with enhancements that adhered to secure coding practices.

      • Increased security with the introduction of the DSKEYLBL parameter, which enables Pervasive Encryption of z/OS data sets.

      • Updated default SSL configuration settings (support TLSv1.2 by default) that provide enhanced security while still maintaining backward compatibility.

    • Installation and Configuration

      • OpenJRE support, in addition to existing Oracle JRE support.

      • Choice of Java versions and the ability to perform maintenance outside the XCOM environment.

      • Ability to share Java with multiple applications. Sharing Java can reduce the installation footprint. 

      • Seamless upgrade from the supported releases and simplified rollback procedures.

      • Automated cleanup, which eliminates the manual effort to clean up old releases and registry entries. 

      • More efficient time-saving installation and configuration through the use of Ansible. Sample scripts are provided.

      • Improved performance with default settings that have been changed to better suit today's environment.

    • Inclusion of Published Solutions Released via Continuous Delivery

      • Acceptance of a password passphrase.

      • Oracle database support for history and password-less (trusted) transfers.

      • Splunk interface to store data transfer activity and perform analytics, including graphic and charting visuals.

    You can download your copy of XCOM Data Transport for Windows online at the Support Portal, where you can also utilize the case management system.     Additionally, in accordance with the Broadcom Software Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider this email your written notification that we are discontinuing technical support for XCOM Data Transport for Windows 11.6 SP02, effective May 2024. This will allow our development organization to more effectively focus its resources and add value to the next release of XCOM Data Transport for Windows. After May 2024, Broadcom will continue to make self-service support available until the end of your current maintenance term.

     

    We encourage you to plan for the migration to XCOM Data Transport for Windows 12.0 as soon as possible so that you can take full advantage of the features and enhancements this release has to offer.
