The Datacom group is pleased to announce the General Availability of "VSAM Linear Datasets with Media Manager with Support for BA24 and TM24". This enhancement to VSAM Linear Datasets with Media Manager enables the migration to VSAM Linear Datasets while changing the block size to a standard VSAM block size value without an outage. Without this change, an outage would be required to perform such migration.
Key benefits include:
- Expands on existing Datacom support for VSAM Linear Datasets with Media Manager
- Provides more tools for DBAs to use when managing datasets and block sizes
- Enables migration to VSAM Linear Datasets while changing block size without an outage
- Allows easy switching back and forth between BDAM and VSAM datasets
