Subject: End of Life Announcement for Chorus Software Manager – Second Notification
On behalf of Broadcom, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, innovative software and services that best meet your needs. As part of our ongoing commitment to your success and to help you achieve your strategic business initiatives, we are investing our resources in IBM z/OSMF for software management and will be discontinuing technical support on Chorus Software Manager. In accordance with the terms and conditions, guidelines, and parameters of Broadcom's support program, documented in the Broadcom Software Maintenance Policy Handbook, your first written notification of End of Life for Chorus Software Manager was sent March 2022. This is your second notification letting you know that Chorus Software Manager will no longer be enhanced and maintenance and technical support, including self-service support, will be discontinued effective June 30, 2023. Thereafter, the functionality of Chorus Software Manager will be limited.

Software installation using z/OSMF portable software instances
Portable software instances represent the next step in collaboration between major mainframe software vendors. Software Management in z/OSMF can be used to deploy portable software instances and serves as a common installer delivering a consistent user experience across vendors. Software configuration using z/OSMF workflows
After you install your product on a mainframe system, you can use z/OSMF workflows to configure the product software instance. z/OSMF workflows help automate the deployment and configuration of a product instance. z/OSMF workflows are designed to reduce the time that is required to perform these tasks. Software maintenance installation using Software Update in z/OSMF
The new Software Update function in z/OSMF helps System Programmers quickly install corrective, recommended, and functional updates to your system. z/OSMF Software Update offers a simple flow to guide even less experienced mainframe System Programmers through a maintenance operation in a matter of minutes.
