Level Set PTF 20.0.05 (LU07187) for the Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS is now available. The following features in this Level Set PTF require activation:

    • Database Analyzer now aggregates RTS automatic symbolics for each selected tablespace partition. You now have greater control over the conditions for the reorganization of selected partitions. The values collected for the RTS symbolics are added together for the selected partitions when the %PARTLIST automatic symbolic is used in models associated with the RO utility code.
    • Log Analyzer can now filter log records by the logical unit of work ID (LUWID) in the DML and DDL Activity reports. Use the new LUWID log data filter option to search for activity that is performed by concurrent threads, from a specific CICS terminal, or on a particular DDF thread. Support for this new filter is also available in strategies for DML and DDL Activity reports.

To activate these features, see Activate a Level Set.

The following features in this Level Set PTF do not require activation:

    • Fast Unload now lets you add a trailing decimal point to externally formatted numbers when the column scale is 0 and OUTPUT-FORMAT COMMA-DELIMITED is specified. The new DECIMAL-POINT-ALWAYS keyword specifies whether to include the decimal point in the output when unloading the decimal data type. This enhancement lets you use the output from Fast Unload as input for third-party applications that require the decimal point.
    • Log Analyzer can now use incremental image copies that are taken before and after an update for partial update reconstruction (PUR). Previously, PUR could only obtain data from incremental image copies that were taken before the update. This feature can reduce the amount of data that is read from the Db2 log records and result in a lower elapsed reporting time.
    • RC/Migrator, RC/Compare, and RC/Update now recognize implicitly created databases, and generate the correct DDL and syntax when you are creating and altering objects in these databases. You can now run the analysis output in the target Db2 subsystem without needing to make these changes manually to the generated script.
    • RC/Query now determines whether the table that you are creating requires implicit LOB objects. If so, the CREATE statement is wrapped in SET CURRENT RULES, and all required LOB and auxiliary objects can be created implicitly when executing the DDL or HDDL command.
    • SYSVIEW for Db2 enhancements:
      • A new system parameter, CSV-HEADERS-WITH-TYPE, specifies whether the data type prefixes every entry in the header row of the CSV output format. To suppress this behavior and improve processing of the exported CSV in third-party software, set the value of CSV-HEADERS-WITH-TYPE to NO.
      • Support for new command statistics and storage manager statistics has been added to the (001) STATS1 and (1001) CURR-STATS1 trace records. The extended support lets you monitor executed commands in your Db2 environments.
      • The History Load utility (IDB2UIFI) now allows file load filtering in history only data collector mode. A new REQ=LOADHIST parameter option WAIT239 enables grouping of associated IFCID 3, IFCID 151, and IFCID 239 records during the load. Use the GLOBALS WHERE condition to specify a subset of accounting records to be loaded into the history VSAM file.
      • Support for new Db2 12 and Db2 13 system parameters (zPARMS) has been added to the (106) DSNZPARM and (1006) CURR-PARM trace records. The extended support lets you use SYSVIEW for Db2 to troubleshoot and tune new zPARMs.
      • Support for CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 6.1.
      • Support for new Db2 12 LOCK and CPU TIME fields in the (002) STATS2 and (1002) CURR-STATS trace records. These new fields report the number of failures and retrieves for conditional locks and CPU times that are consumed by the integrated synchronization accelerator functionality. A new request, IDSDB2CP, has been added to provide metrics that are not in the z/OS reports and to provide zIIP CPU and preemptible Service Request Block (SRBs) CPU times.

For more information about these enhancements, see New Features in the Release Notes.
