Have you recently upgraded the Altiris NS server? If so, have you enabled all the Upgrade agent policies, including on your task site servers?

Please check state of "Altiris Object Host Service" and "Client Task Data Loader" services on a TASKSERVER computer. Both should be started. Try to restart ATRSHOST - it should re-apply\recreate settings for the Task Server application pool on startup.

    Thank you,

    Alex.

    Hi,

No we have not upgraded Altiris NS Server.

    Also

Restarted Altiris "Object Host Service" and "Client Task Data Loader" service in task server same issue :(

    Reinstalled Task Server agent also.

In Altiris Console -->Home--> My First Setup--> Licensing showing "Expired"

Check your licenses in SIM (Symantec Installation manager)  If they show expired call Symantec Support and open a licensing case to renew and combine your licenses.

Then apply the licenses by performing the following steps:

    1. Open SIM (Symantec Installation Manager)

    2. Click on "Add/Update licenses"

    3. Click "Install licenses" button

    4. Browse to the directory where you license files are located

    5. Select all license files and click "Open"

    6. Click "Yes" button on confirmation window

After that you should be promted to restart Altiris Services and after restarting services licenses should be applied. You can check the license status in "Add/Update licenses" window.

If you are using more than you purchased it can cause a problem too.  You can purge or retire old machines to reclaim their licenses.

Licenses status should not affect task server functionality. From the errors: most probably something wrong with IIS configuration on a task server. Which OS task server has - 2008? Maybe it is possible to zip&attach Symantec Management Agent logs from the task server computer for the moment when "Altiris Object Host Service" and "Client Task Data Loader" services are restarted and a bit after that?

    Thank you,

    Alex.

    1. Under which account is running "Altiris Object Host Service" service? "Local System"?
    2. Do you have the same settings of AppPools as on screenshot?

    Hi,

Per log it looks like the major problem is unability of SMA agent to contact the NS server. I suggest to check sertificates on NS and on agent - are they OK?

    Thank you,

    Alex.

    1. "Altiris Object Host Service" service running in  "Local System" account only.

Attached the AppPools setings of Taskserver and NS. Also task server status in console

Well, difference is that your Application Pools Identity is set to "Network Service" however I have identity "ApplicationPoolIdentity" and I don't see that you have a "Symantec Task Server App Pool" available there...

On each start "Altiris Object Host Service" service trying to create "Symantec Task Server App Pool". Without such pool task server won't work. There should be some errors or warnings in the log at the moment when ATRHOST start - it will be good to share logs from the server the moment when "Altiris Object Host Service" restarts and a bit after that (I do not see such events in the already provided logs). Below is an example of logs during the atrshost restart:

    Thank you,

    Alex.
