Specs: Altiris 7.1 SP2
When you add or upload an asset in to the Altiris CMDB, you assign it an asset type. If, for instance, the asset type is unknown, like when you run network discovery and information cannot be obtained, it creates a record for the device under network resource (generically-so). My question becomes then, "Is it possible to change an asset's type once it has been added into the system?"
For instance, if I import 50 new devices into the system as generic assets--just to get them in the CMDB--do I have the option of going back later on and actually assigning them to the appropriate asset type?
I am hoping this is an easy solution or I am overlooking something blairingly obvious in the console.
