  • 1.  Deploy package server via ASDK or command line?

    Posted Nov 27, 2013 02:17 PM

I'm looking for a way to install a package server via something like the ASDK or command line.  Essentially, I'd like to script the install for any device in my environment that meets a condition (in this particular case, a few specific chars in the hostname).  I have a vague impression of seeing a presentation at Vision 2013 where someone was doing something like this.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

I too would like to be able to do this but hadn't had much luck. I'd started working with it from the Workflow perspective but there was a bug in one of the SMP components. Essentially you will be creatingn a resource association between the computer and the package server service.

I went so far as to manually install the package server executable on the computer which picks up the package server tab in the Agent. However it won't start downloading any packages until the computer has been associated via the site server settings.

    Prep,

Could you clarify what excatly you are after?

As far as I undersntand what you like to achieve is:

    1. Create a target based on the hostname

    2. Push the package service to the target.

    Is that right ?
