  • 1.  Asset 7 - Changing icons on custom resource types?

    I know it's possible to change the icons of custom resource types in NS6, but I'm having problems getting this to work with NS7.

    I've exported the Network Printer resource type and one of my custom resource types to XML and looked at them in a text editor.  The Network Printer resource type has two extra lines below the base resource type line (lines 19 and 20):
      <dataClassesAddedByUser />

      <presentation defaultImage="/Altiris/Images/icn16printer.gif" />

    These two lines don't exist in the XML of my custom resource type.  If I copy them and paste them in the exact same location in the custom resource type's XML and re-import the XML, I'm still left with the stupid "Box with the star" resource icon.

    I've even tried deleting the resource type and re-importing it but still no love.

    Has anyone been able to do this?

    For user defined resource types unfortunately you don't have the option to define a custom icon at the moment. But I would push it into future release if possible.
