  • 1.  Agent NS Comms on different ports 7.1

    Posted Oct 12, 2011 10:17 AM

    Hi,

In targeted network settings, I know it is possible to change the port that the agent uses to communicate with the NS.  When this port is changed, does the NS actually listen on the same port?  Our goal here is to manage the NS on one port exclusively, and to have agents communicate with the NS and vice versa on a different port exclusively.  Thanks!

Just creating a policy does not cause the NS to listen on the custom port.

You would have to add a new binding to http for the clients to communicate on. You'll need to be aware that if you add multiple bindings to http that it breaks the enhanced console views (Activity Center).

See the following article on it:
TECH167479 - ITMS 7.1 - Silverlight UI does not work when accessing console through a non-default port.

Right now there is no definitive time frame for a fix.
