I haven't heard of one but I would imagine they have the network backbone to handle whatever you have. May need to check with them directly though.

I have checked and the documents are from 2012-2013. What I have read is that anything from 2-250 seats applicable ....

Does anyone else more or managing more than a 1000 in sep.cloud?

Just to be very, very, clear:  Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud is a NEW product in a family of Symantec endpoint protection products.  The company has a rather unfortunate inability to clearly name things, and that is the source of endless confusion.

Shown below is a graphic that depicts how Symantec views the product's positioning and the usage recommendations:

I would imagine that if you have more than 1,000 users - particularly at one location - you would want to ensure that you have several local resources available to handle download/distribution of updates, as well as some redundancy for failover.

You can find more specific product information at the sites listed in the following graphic:

    Hope that helps!

Yes, this is a different product. You can read about and trial it here:

Hey guys, what's the current status of the rollout for this?  I keep hearing about how you can trial it, which applies only to the US by the way, and yet from others in Symantec I hear the product is not ready.  So by "trial" are we really talking "beta"?

[deleted the rest of my post as it was just general complaining about Symantec's collective inability to inform partners about product changes :) ].

    Rollout meaning?

I'm trialing it now but as far as I can tell it is able to be purchased and considered production right now, despite the fact it's only U.S. based - why?!

Nevermindddd :) I just saw that blog that Brian posted.  Ugh, I need to find a better way to stay informed.  :)

You know what would be so awesome, if Symantec included a remote desktop access agent within the EP Cloud product.  One that works on all platforms.

Do it Symantec, c'mon.  5, 4, 3, 2, 1, do it!  (Dwight from The Office).

Hey sorry for the parallel posting without seeing your replies first.  Well the confusion for me is that I've been told from Symantec people internally that the new EP Cloud is not going to be available in Canda until an unknown time in 2017.  I'll check again with Ingram and find out if, now that this product has actually released, I can put anybody on it here in Canada.  The trial sign-up is still US-only though if that says anything.

Mixit, just a general take on this.

The "first generation" of this product is being rolled out now.  I spoke with someone from Symantec much earlier this year when I first heard rumblings of a new product in an altogether different webinar last year.  By all accounts, this first version is not robust and all-encompassing.  Symantec is planning to roll out new features and functionality over the course of, well, years.

Given their past track record with SEP SBE (cloud) and the horrors of updates, pulled updates, lack of information regarding server reboots and the like, I wouldn't necessarily want them controlling MDM on a client's business phone - and possibly bricking it inadvertently.

While I realize everything is going to the cloud, most of Symantec's core processing is still Norton (consumer-based) desktop processing - either by design or by convention.  That alone, is going to be a monumental hurdle to overcome.

Other security vendors have a much more comprehensive approach to this solution - one that is truly MSP-based, not one that relies on the end-client to do the work - and which encompasses both hardware and software, all based in the cloud.
