    Hello,

I would like to update the SMM from 7.1 SP1 version to 7.2

In SIM I cannot find any updates for it but i can find the 7.2 into the new product install list

Can someone tell me if I have to install the 7.2 from there or should it be available like an update ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Steve

SMM 7.2 MR1 is available in SIM under (Install New products) and not available as update. So go ahead and update as new installation.

    Upgrading Symantec Mobile Management
Use the following procedure to update to latest version of Symantec Mobile
    Management:
    To upgrade Symantec Mobile Management
1 You upgrade Mobile Management through the Symantec Installation Manager.
Go to Start > All Programs > Symantec > Symantec Installation Manager.
2 On the Installed Products page, click Install new products.
3 Select Symantec Mobile Management 7.2 and click Next.
4 On the Optional Installations page, click Next
5 Accept the EULA and click Next.
6 On the Contact Information page, click Next.
7 Verify the installation details and click .
8 On the Installation Complete page, click Finish.

After you install Mobile Management 7.2, you must upgrade Mobile Management
servers manually in the Symantec Management Console to complete the upgrade.
Use this procedure to upgrade Symantec Mobile Management Server.

Upgrading the Mobile Management Server manually
1 In the Symantec Management Console, click Home> Mobile Management >
Settings > Mobile Management Server Settings
2 Under Site Server Rollout and Settings, highlight the site server and then
    on the toolbar, click Upgrade.
3 Repeat Step 2 for each server.
    4 Click Save changes
For more information about upgrading the products that use the Symantec
Management Platform, see Symantec Knowledge-base article HOWTO 44338,
Installing an update or an additional product.

@dess: If you don't upgrade the managed devices to the 7.2 agent prior to the upgrade, they won't be able to use the mobile library until they upgrade.  That means you'll be sending links to manually install the new agent version.  Instead, publish the 7.2 agent in the Mobile Library in the Apps tab prior to the upgrade so that clients can get on the correct version.  Then, once all or most are on the new agent version, upgrade your SMP and SMM servers.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your replay.

@mina, I achieve the update thanks a lot

@mclemson, I updating a lab platform so no impact at the moment for my users but thanks for the advise.

Regarding the agent, I will have to rebuild my IOS in house agent in this case ? or the is a way to get it updated ?

About the Android agent, is it also possible to customize it ? if yes I dont find a process in user guide for android agent.

Yes, you have to rebuild the in-house agent. You can send the new version to the users before you upgrade your servers via Mobile library as mclemson suggested. Or you can use a policy with dynamic target including (web clips) profile with the agent URL, this should even work after the upgrade of the server as long as the devices keep their MDM profile.

    @Mina.

    Ok thanks

OK Somebody now if it will be available in the future ?

I have another question, Are you able to download file from the mobile library ?

In my case, the download don't start and I get this error in the agent logs

    LibraryFetcher
    Java.IO.IOException: 302 Moved Temporarlly ()
