Notes from October 30 meeting

  • 1.  Notes from October 30 meeting

    Posted Oct 31, 2014 11:36 AM

In attendance:  Carla, Sheila, Linda, Laura, Craig and Chuck

    Registration:

    -  Current count 59:   34 customer/partner,  25 CA
    -  We would like to extend registration into November and update all places that says it ends Oct 31st.  CA has been doing more advertising internally and on social media.  We can revisit around mid-november to see what regi numbers look like. Of course, participation in event nights still could be in jeopardy for late registrants

    -  We need to check with Patty if customers can still get CA Rate when the block at the Marriott expires.  We know they can at the Sheraton

    -  CA speakers may still be registering as well.  Carla will connect with Chuck to highlight who are speakers, executives and attendees within the CA list.

    -  Carla communicated the format for the list needed to have CA create WIFI guest passwords for customers.  The format is approved and Chuck will give Carla the updated list on 11/3 so we can begin data entry.  We can submit the additions later in November for anyone who registers after 11/1.

    - Linda will check with Gary Cherlet so we have a company name for him in this list

    Sessions:

    - Grant has sent in an overview of his session. We will stay with the abstract Linda created and posted.  We need to make sure this is recorded before Thanksgiving.  Linda will contact Grant

    - The abstracts and grid will need to be updated to reflect internal organizational changes within CA.   David Hodgson has replaced Kevin Goulet as business line leader for the mainframe so he will speak with Mike Harer in the Big Data keynote.   Also Aline no longer has responsibility for IDMS, as she is in charge of Application Development products within the MF.  IDMS now reports to Vikas Sinha (Out of Lisle).  We are contacting him to see if he can attend the conference and speak in the Agile session.

    - Carla has 6 sessions so far and has begun session reviews.  We discussed the process and Carla will write up a short document on how to do it so everyone is on the same page.  We will keep a review tracking spreadsheet on the site.

    Conference bags:

    - Linda will announce the bring your own bag contest

    - Linda will by inexpensive recyclable bags when she is here so we have something to put all the bag contents in

    - Currently going into the bag:  pen, notebook (CA), tshirts (CA), mugs (CA), Boston info(CA), building map(CA)

    - Linda will see if she can find something else fun. We talked about taking pictures during the event and maybe printing a group pic for everyone to bring home

    - Linda will see if Treehouse, Objex etc may want to contribute

    Shuttles

    - Linda sent an email around with quotes.  IUA can rent a car if they want if similar price to CA

    - We should put out on FAQ and include information on shuttles for clients  (Sheila will see what Datacom has done for an FAQ)

    - Linda wondered whether Patty could work a deal with a shuttle company to get a good rate (like $95 one-way)

    - Linda also said she got a great rate on a deal because Marriott reservation linked her to Hertz with a good rate (maybe other clients can take advantage of this too - FAQ)

    Tuesday reception

    - Linda still needs to hold a board meeting to discuss this
