    Hi all,

Does someone know the max length of a VSE name?

    Thanks,
    Gary

    Hi Gary,

I don't know if there are any practical limits within the ActiveMQ bus
connecting the server components or within the server components
    (VirtualServiceEnvironmentService, RegistryService, ...) themselves.
Engineering will have to chime in on that aspect.

But in the EnterpriseDashboard database - where data about components like
a VirtualServiceEnvironment are stored - the name of a component is defined
    as:

    comp_name nvarchar(1024) NOT NULL,

So, certainly not longer than 1024, potentially shorter.

    Cheers,

    Hi Gary,

As per my understanding, you can define the VSE Name of length upto 250 chars, if it exceeds that the VSE will keep crashing (I have observed this behavior in past)

    Thanks
