Upgrading Automic from 12.3.4 to 21.0.5

HI,

We have a requirement to restore DB from 12.3.4 version to newly installed 21.0.5 version.

Actually client has given on Oracle DB backup only from older installation and we need to restore it on a separate server. 

So our concern is : Can we restore this DB and install directly 21.0.5 referring to DB.

yes, you can upgrade from v12.3 to v21.0.5 by following the steps descripted in the documentation

If I understand you correctly I would suggest the following steps:

• restore the customer's DB-data into an Oracle Database system
• download and unpack the latest v21 offering (currently https://downloads.automic.com/jart/prj3/dlc/main.jart?rel=en&reserve-mode=active&content-id=1441124704571&action=get&release_delivery_id=1678889937964)
• update the DBLoad's configuration-file (ucybdbld.ini) to point to the database

• install/configure database drivers
• upgrade the database from v12.3 to v21 schema by using DBLoad and the file <directory>\DB\GENERAL\21.0\UC_UPD.TXT

• update the Automation Engine's configuration file (ucsrv.ini) to point to the upgraded database

• start the server processes (WP, JWP, CP, JCP, REST) of v21
• check/update AWI's config-file (uc4config.xml)
