  • 1.  MCS CLI Exception on profile-export etc.

    Posted Nov 22, 2022 01:18 PM
    Hi.

We noticed that using mcs-cli.jar in recent updates (at least 20.4 CU4 and CU5) leads to an error on certain calls like profile-export on our UIM setup:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/springframework/jdbc/support/MetaDataAccessException

Workaround for us at the moment is to use an older version of mcs-cli.jar (20.4 CU2 seems to be fine) from a backup. A ticket has been opened.

    Regards,
    Thomas.

    Hi Thomas

We are aware about this issue and we are targetting fixing this in UIM 20.4 CU6 see:

    UIM 20.4 CU5: mon_confg_service_cli - Profile export fails: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError (broadcom.com)

We also recommend adopting UIMAPI for this task:

Import and export of MCS profiles is more advanced, it's user-friendly and much easier to use.

    Hi Marco.

Will the UIMAPI profiles section replace the mcsws API?

I'm wondering because at the moment it appears we don't have a fully functional mon_config_service_ws. That is, direct API calls are ok and MCS works - apart from known issues like the one noted above. But opening https://<your_UMP_or_OC_address>/mcsws/docs returns HTTP Status 500 – Internal Server Error

    Regards,
    Thomas.
